What is industrial filtration?
Industrial filtration is a process that separates solid particles from fluids (air or liquid) using adapted filtration systems. It plays an essential role in environmental protection, operator safety and compliance with emission standards.
What is the lifespan of a filter?
The lifespan depends on operating conditions, but generally varies between 6 months and several years depending on the environment, temperature, nature of dust and cleaning frequency. Good preventive maintenance can significantly extend this duration.
What's the difference between air and liquid filtration?
Air filtration concerns gases and dust — it uses filter bags, filter panels or cartridges. Liquid filtration concerns the separation of particles in industrial liquids via filter bags, cloths or special media. The media and selection criteria differ depending on the filtered phase.

What filters for a cement plant?
Cement plants mainly use <strong>filter bags</strong> (PPS, aramid or PTFE membrane) combined with reinforced metal cages and pulse jet cleaning systems to capture fine dust. Temperatures can reach 280°C, so media selection is critical.
What are the types of filter media?
The main filter media are:
  • Polyester — general use, temperatures up to 130°C
  • PPS — chemical and thermal resistance (up to 190°C)
  • Aramid — high temperature (up to 200°C)
  • PTFE membrane — maximum efficiency, aggressive environments
  • Nylon & technical fabrics — liquid filtration
How to choose a filter media?
The choice depends on several key factors: the <strong>temperature</strong> of the gas or liquid, the <strong>chemical nature</strong> of the particles, <strong>ATEX constraints</strong> (explosive areas), the required emission level and the maintenance budget.
